The world is changing??
This morning finally had my long lost badminton game.
After the game, as usual, we went for breakfast.
I have never thought of being treated like this for twice.
TWICE u know in two consecutive days!
Yesterday the gaming plan failed due to SOMEONE.
Anyway, we went to the famous Ipoh old town for breakfast.
p.s. NOT THE FRANCHISED OLD TOWN KOPITIAM!
I ordered milo kosong ice.
When I had my first sip, I thought my tongue gone wrong.
Look like milo but tasted like coffee!
Then, I had another few sips and finally asked my friend to taste for me.
Okay, proven that my tongue is still functioning well.
The milo is mixed with coffee.
So, I called upon the “uncle waiter”.
“Uncle, the milo tasted like coffee la.”
“Ya meh??Impossible it is milo.”
Here comes the auntie who took our orders at first.
“I made the milo, impossible it tasted like coffee.”
“It really tasted like coffee la! I cannot take coffee!”
“Then what do you want now?”
“Can you change the milo for me?”
Both of them just went off with some kind of look.
We thought they were not going to change for us.
Who knows they come again with another glass of milo.
“You taste it and see, if still got coffee taste then we really cannot do your business liao.”
So I tasted, I could not really taste it because my tongue was overwhelmed with the char keow tiao’s flavor.
I just pretended it is the real milo without coffee to ease the tense situation.
While the uncle was going off, “Milo + coffee is more expensive u know.”
“It is not the money problem, is that I CANNOT TAKE COFFEE!”
So case I ended.
Now case II.
Today we went to a quite famous curry noodles stall.
I asked my friend to order for me a keow tiao curry noodle while the rest of them wanted dry curry noodle.
So, he went and came back.
After some time, the food was finally here.
Chicken floss keow tiao soup was served first.
We did not ordered that.
So we requested to change.
And then another uncle came, “You all ordered keow tiao soup right!”
“No, we ordered keow tiao curry.”
“But, that leng chai said keow tiao soup!”
He went off after saying that.
We finally knew what happened.
My friend thought that if he does not mentioned “soup”, then he will make us all dry curry.
And then, another kind waitress for beverage came and told us that if next time want curry soup noodle just mention “curry noodle”, “soup” is unnecessary! If not he will make us the chicken floss noodle.
We were sort of scolded by the uncle.
I do not know why Ipoh people suddenly become so rude.
What I known in the past was not like this.
Is the world changing or I no longer suit Ipoh lifestyle?
